15th October 2025
Dear Patient
We kindly ask all patients to put through any URGENT requests promptly from 08:00am each day by way of the online triage form.
We are receiving urgent same day requests all afternoon and this is severely overloading the practice. The new NHS contract change means routine appointment requests can be submitted all day but we will not be able to help if your matter is urgent if you submit a very late request.
Please therefore submit urgent requests for consideration of a same day appointment promptly from 08:00 and before 10:00am to aid capacity planning.
The only late requests to be put to the Duty Doctor in the afternoon are from our most vulnerable patient groups; very unwell patients over 80, babies under 1 and patients undergoing cancer treatment. These can be telephoned through in the afternoon as needed.
Routine requests can be received at any time. We have up to one working day to respond.
All appointment requests will be part of the triage process to ensure the right person is seen at the right time.
Elderly and vulnerable patients can telephone us and we will complete the form on your behalf.
Housebound patients should request home visits under the same rule of 08:00-10:00am
We are feeling a very big pinch under the new GP Contract and it is very difficult to manage capacity without some rules in place of times to present for same day need. We also ask you kindly do not chase us for routine matters an hour after completing the form as we do have 24 hours to respond. We always respond within a few hours but please allow the team some time to process the intake.
Thank you kindly
Sharon Nunweek
Practice Manager
